Anna graduated from the University of Dundee with History and German in 2017 and is currently enrolled on the MSC Gender History programme at the University of Glasgow. Her research interests include women in Communist regimes generally, and particularly under the East German Democratic Republic. She is particularly interested in women’s role in the social care system in the GDR. Her current masters thesis focuses on the role of concentration camp detainment on Communist women’s politics in the GDR using theories of femininity as a tool in her research. Alongside fellow masters students, Anna has recently co-founded a journal titled ‘Engendering the Past’.
